Nice app, but the CPU load is around 70%. Therefore unusable.

I like the subtle sounds…very calming. Hope more is coming soon!

This app is so simple that it is beautiful. Perfect background for work or projects. Effectively masks annoying city sounds. Really takes you to another level. Does not interfere with whatever you are doing, rather it enhances whatever else is going on. Additionally it is not a space hog and integrates well with OS.

This app starts automatically, but doens’t show up on the force quit menu. I cannot delete it because it is “open” but it is invisible - there is no menu or anything so I cannot quit or close it. Help!

Elsewhere is great!!! But would you be so kind to increase the volume for it because Elsewhere is too quiet to both my computers. Nikolay

Sound themes are very realistic! App keeps me relax when i need to do difficult tasks.

It is nice to have and it sounds great. Add more choices...

Selection very limited, but other than that its pretty good I guess…The sounds dont sound BAD but they are far from good. Relax Melodies is still better, so Ill probably go back to useing that instead.

App will not pull up its settings to let me turn it off or on or choose sounds or anything! Just constantly on even if I try to play my music. Anyone know how to delete this thing?

There are three surrounding choices. Each has 12-15 samples randomly playing, so there is no repetition. I use Senhheisser hd595 and the sound quality is really good.

This is a simple and straight to the point app. I hope they will start adding more environments and maybe one environment that we can define from a sound file, also it will be nice if we can assign shortcuts for each environment. Nevertheless, this is still a great app.

WOW! Elsewhere became free now! Great news for my friends that were going to buy this app! Now they can get rain mode! As for me, Ive already got rain option - nice addition

free but you have to buy all the goodies….get Sleep Pillow instead or Relax Melodies

Pops up in my Menu Bar, but then disappears seconds later. Ive even rebooted my Mac for this app, which admittedly I never do, but that did not help the situation. Cant raite it higher until I can at least try it! This is on 10.8.2.

Ive tried several of these, some from the Mac App Store and some not; and I think Elsewhere is the best implementation of an ambient sound app for the Mac. CON: It worked on my laptop one time, then the volume slider broke and the sounds take several minutes to get going—this may be a conflict with one of my other apps though. Limited ambient themes (but in-app purchases of additional sound themes might be the whole strategy—to earn a living I suppose; Im going to buy the Rain one and Id pay for one with more birds and…I dunno…bees.) PRO: It works perfectly on my wifes iMac—and when I say perfectly I mean the UI is simple, efficient, and all features of the app work as expected. The ambient themes are excellent; I suppose they repeat but I havent noticed (and thats the main thing that disappoints with other apps like this—I have tried them ALL). Sound quality is superb. I like the in-app purchase option for more themes and I hope they do more! As for the problem with Elsewhere on my MacBook Pro, I posted a support request via their online form and they got back to me next day. Pretty good support for a free app!

Elsewhere enwraps you in a natural environment sounds giving the possibility to either concentrate on work or totally relax. It gives you three background ambient sounds; city, forest and beach, each include a day and night option.

I really enjoy this app. It is an ambient sound generator, it isnt just sounds on a loop. This is essential for me to keep it from becoming too distracting. I wish it had more environments, but the three that are available are top-notch.

The only time it works is for asking you to buy the full version!!!
